Here is a picture of my micro fleet at last weekend's Big Spring indoor event.

DWE P-38 upgraded to 2 cell N20 power, 2.6 oz.
Estes Pee Wee flyer, converted to a biplane with a spare wing and also converted to JMP rx and Falcon servos, BSP M20 drive, 2 cell, about 48 grams.
Own design flying boat, M-20 drive, 2 cell JMP and falcon servos, about 42 grams.
Ikarus SU-27 on Fiegao 28 turn DD power, 2 cell 340, 3/3 prop, under 4 oz.
Micro space shuttle, 3.3 oz, 2 cell 340, GWS DD, 33 prop.

The DWE P-38 has a 19" span for reference to the other models.

Flew all but the shuttle indoors...

That is a nice collection of micro planes. They all look nicely done. It sounds like it was a good event. Hopefully any other people who attended will post some pictures of their planes.

I also attended the Big Spring, Texas event this past weekend, and I had a blast. The club does an excellent job, the flying sight is wonderful, and Robert does a great job as CD. Thanks guys, let's do it again next year!

Nice looking group!!! I wanna know more about the flying boat...I have a set of those wings and tail parts here waiting for my attention. I have a -17 gram plane flying on a similar set of foam parts, different style, same manufacturer:

Love the flying boat..... Size and gear ????? I have a Pelican (a lot bigger) but in any wind it likes to dig a wing.. will have to put your fuselage out riggers on it. The stab floats are just not enough.... Do you think that will help??? STRINGFLY <>+++++

The little flying boat is a real quickie project of a model. It was built in a 24 hour period just befor a float fly.

I did use "found" wings and tail from a rubber powered stick model that my kids flew years ago .The fuse is a simple depron box type hull in 2mm designed using the "TLAR" method, taking some design clues from the classic Ken Willard seaplanes and things like the Puddlemaster. The bottom of the fuse is wider than the top of the fuse. JMP RX, 2 cell conversion board and 2 Falcon servos with a 2 cell 170 lipo.

I think the wing is about 16-18" in span.

The 2 cell M20 drive with 4/4 prop is simply glued to a small 1/16 ply pylon.

The model was made for our indoor float fly last October and has one successful water takeoff out of several attempts. Lots of other hand launch flights and water landings.

It needs a bigger step and a little bit more wing area to make consistent water takeoffs, I think.

I think any of us could take a small wing and do something similar. give it a try!
