Build Log
Micro Bipie

I have been asked to do a build log for my first scratch build. I did start it on my blog but i will now carry on with this thread.

Hi all for my first scratch build i'm going to attempt a micro model.
Initially its going to be a 3 chan as my flying skills are not very good.
I love the look of Bipie which is designed by Chara. Cheers Chara
Its a full fuse version with dihedral. 210 mm top WS, I think I went 40% from the original plans

Electrics.
Deltang RX 43
Plantraco GB03 Gearbox (5.25:1)
Prop - 100x80 for 1mm Shaft - Black

MicroAct Magnetic Actuator - 0.4g x 2 for elev and rudder.

MiniAct Magnetic Actuator - 1.1g for maybe a 4 aileron version later.

Hopefully it will work. Heres some photos with weights included.

Done a little more, not got much free time atm. I made a bracket for the gearbox using thin aluminium sheet and fixed it together with 1.2mm cf rod and some heat shrink tubing.
I cut out the wings and got a bit of shape by placing them on one of my sofa cushions and rolling with a roll of kitchen plastic wrap (all I had to hand) whilst using a hair dryer for a bit of heat. I did get some creases but it's all new to me so its all good fun.
I am basically making this up as I go along whilst learning, so any questions please ask away.
Plantraco microact magnetic actuator test on my micro bipe (0 min 46 sec)

Part 2

Ok hello again i shelved Bipie until now. Thankyou for the nice comments guys Started a new airframe which should be lighter as hopefully learned things from the first attempt.
2 mm depron, as an idea of size i cut the firewall 20 mm width and the rear bulkhead 15 mm width.
Here are some more photos.

Maiden

An issue with the undercarriage, had to hand launch and still need to work out a better lipo for the weight to mah as the 90 mah it was flying on was a bit too heavy. But she flies so
