Hmmm maybe i will try out the J3 motor....anyone know how to remove the pinion and then put in the MCPX tail rotor?

Take clippers and break it off. It is soft brass so you can cut right through it. Cut parallel to the shaft.

Dynamicfoamy, Im probably going to be getting this plane over the weekend, so do you know if the ember 2 motor will work? I have one from my unflyable ember and would like to put the electronics to use.

I wonder how, besides weight of course, a 8.5mm motor would do vs a 6mm?

With ~5.5g instead of ~5.5g, you probably wouldn't be able to balance it, unless you use a much bigger battery. A 1.7ohm 7mm would be a much more viable option.

The 1.7s are too hot for DD use, unless with a ducted fan or small too small a prop. A red 7mm with a GWS2510 will put out 12g thrust at .7A.

Just spin the same prop as before. Bigger motor doesn't mean you must use a bigger prop.
