Hi there,

I think he meant Inteco L213, not Blanik

As far as I know the only one manufacturing the misnamed "Blanik" Inteco L-213A of which only one prototype was made is Valenta (and the wing plan is not too scale either), I looked around and I could not even find three views of this glider. Only a couple of pics of it.

Jose
Either that or they used some blanik parts but yes, I read somewhere that only one was built (all metal) as an acrobatic glider.
There are few threads of the two sizes made by Valenta (I have the small one) in the german RC network forums.

I will soon be making a short kit for the L213, prototype being built at present.

Would it not be possible to include flaps? That would be the crux for me (I have a smaller one with flaps, couldn't imagine flying one without - scale or not...).

L213

Flaps would be a problem now, however it does have airbarkes!

Hi,

a couple of years ago I wrote this in another L-213A-thread here on rcgroups:

The only source for calling the L-213A a "Blanik" I know is the manufacturer Valenta. But nowhere else (except everyone who refers to Valenta) there is a source for this name and it is unlogical to call it "Blanik", since

the L-13 is the "Blanik

the L-23 is the "Super-Blanik"

the L-33 is the "Solo-Blanik" or known as "Solo"

so it's very unlikely, that a glider from a different manufacturer (INTECO) uses the same name as the L-13 with a different number (L-213A).

Though it is true, that some parts of the original Blanik were used to design and/or build the prototype of the L-213A, which is - as far as I know - the only glider ever manufactured of this type.

A couple of years ago I tried to track down, what happened to the original, but wasn’t able to obtain reliable information about it.

Besides: Gritsch and Rosenthal now offer a 5.00/5.80-m-wingspan-version of the L-213A.

Great thread! excited to see the kit Cliff.

I'm on my second 1/3 scale 213 (don't ask) hope to have it ready over the winter.

I've put the graupner up and go in the the fuselage of the first one, not sure I'll ever trust myself to fly it...

Cliff, can I ask why you didn't include flaps? I wouldn't like to think about landing this model without some flap, it really bites hard when it does! (Hence the 2nd model...)

L213

There are no flaps on the full size, just air brakes!
