Question
Anyone used this Hobby King 90mm?

http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s..._1500watt.html

Anyone experienced any issues with these? I want to use this for VTOL/STOL so it will be oriented to an over the fuselage intake to a rounded 90 degree turn. If I need to use 2 to provide enough lift the thrust tubes will need to be separate correct?

You might want to read this: Ducting round corners - an experiment

I've seen your posted attachments , read your threads, and I see no game plan here at all. No plans, material or component list, or a projected AUW..
At this point you have mo idea what you need for thrust.

You need to put a lot more effort into planning this project, then decide if it's even feasible, before investing any money into it.

I have plenty of ideas that I post as to get a been there done that answer to whether or not it works. My actual action plan will have to wait til im back stateside. Til then I will just keep asking for peoples opinion so as to finalize I have all the gear I propose to use bookmarked and priced. As for my initial action plans I will use foam to create a prototype and test the airframe, IF that fails I will re-concept. I have abandoned the X wing as per RCVertts response my new airframe is conventional with a little twist. But since I have quite a while til that point I am just researching from you knowledgeable folks.

Fair enough. I myself scratch build, so I know the value in planning a build out.
But your asking to get opinions on a speculated concept. No one can give you any real solid info based on that. As a concept build, be prepared to spend some cash on parts that may not work or get used again.

Be confident enough in your project to buy descent components, lesser priced ones may not deliver what they claim. Take look at http://www.effluxrc.com/ , check out http://www.effluxrc.com/WeMoTec_c34.htm (midi fan)
and the http://www.effluxrc.com/Jetfan-accessories_c54.htm (Jetfan "ECO")
Sure more expensive, but much better quality.

Once you come up with all the parameters of your build--IE; wing loading, size, and est AUW + a few more. The guys here on the EDF forums can/will offer some great advice/options.

Until then, it's all guessing.
