Tse Tse - Park Pylon Racer

Nothing too special here. Just felt the need for cheap speed. This plane is laser cut with a solid one piece balsa wing. The wing, fuselage, and tails are sanded into shape. Wing span is 23.75" and it is approximatly 23" long. The fuselage is made of 1/8" balsa with 3/8" tri stock in the inside corners. The tri stock allows me to sand the fuselage in to a nice round shape. The wing is 1/4" balsa. The tails are 1/8" balsa. The whole plane is glassed with 3/4 oz FG and minwax polycrylic. I will be using a hyperion X-22L 3900kv motor for motivation. It will be spinning a 4.2x4 prop. I would like to use the 3s1p 2100 lipo I already have but it may be too heavy. Here are some pics of the progress so far.

Yes, this is something I threw together in solidworks in about an hour. I had Zeke at Park Scale Models cut it out for me. I don't have a scale so I can't really measure the airframe weight. When I get it all painted and finished I will try to get at least an estimate for you. Here it is sanded and glassed. After it cures a bit more I will sand it a bit and paint it. I am going for a smooth moldie-like finish.

I was gona do gloss white as the base and then red on the bottom of the wings and tails so I can tell which end is up and forward.

Great idea. Up to this point there have not been many 100% balsa micro racers. This balsa airframe will definately keep the cost down. From my experiences I would highly suggest a Littlescreamer jetscream motor on 2s or even an Arc 110 motor on 3s. Both of these setups will get this design moving with an APC 4.1 x4.1 prop and a TP 910 pack.
