Here's how I fixed my spar:

That's pretty much how I repaired the broken spars (2 on the CP, 1 on the CY), except that I glued a much, much shorter piece of CF on each side of the spar.

I would repair each time you notice damage. Use CA if you need to fly immediately. Use Welder and the dry/tack up method if you have some downtime. That being said, a little extra bracing doesn't hurt anything except wing loading. If you can afford it and you still like the feel of the plane afterwards, it's a win-win. If you don't like the feel, tear it off and at least you tried...

I never fly broken, I do the walk of shame back to my house (I fly these in a really big retention pond field about 6 houses down from mine because they're so slow and work great in a close area).

Plus, I'm never really in a hurry, I have a crap-ton of UMX birds that I can throw out there and enjoy some flights with. I would just use either Welder's or most likely Foam-Tac as FT will set up and get me in the air in about 10 minutes. I'm going on vacation tomorrow so when I get back I'll make a trip to the local hobby shop and pick up some appropriate carbon flat to make half-length spars for the top & bottom wings, and install them centered and sandwiched up to the wood spar.

All ask another question, maybe I'll get an answer

Has anyone replaced the wood spars with CF during build?
I want to order a Pitts, but after going through thread and seeing a few broken spars, I'd like to use CF. What size do I need? It it the same as the CY?

I'd like to use a Motrofly 2205 1800, ZTW 12a ESC , S3157 ailerons, S3154 elevator and rudder. I have the TH lipos with my CY (2s), but since I want 3s for Pitts I was thinking 450 Glaciers or maybe TP 480 (1g lighter than Glaciers)
The TH 450's are the lightest, any + or - ( performance only, no cost comparisons)

I know of someone who uses the 2205 1800 with 2s in a crack mxs-c, so it should work with crack pitts. not sure about 3s though.

Well I pulled the trigger, I liked my CY so much I order the CP and CYSL. I ordered the power system for the CYSL, but will go with above mentioned items for CP.

jk6672, you will enjoy your CP immensely. I love it so much I bought a second and the CPM. I haven't had the pleasure to fly any other twisted hobbys air frames yet.
I've cracked the spars on mine a few times and the wood absorbs and accepts CA without any issues. As of yet they haven't broke again. I literally fly the glue off of mine. I don't think CF would have lasted the 1-5 crashes per session that the wood has.

Yeah, I asked them, pretty much what I gathered from the response was that it's strong enough to be a spar, yet flexible enough to endure crashes, to a point.
I should have it by Monday I'd guess. My CY arrived in two days after ordering.

Mine too. I wonder if they have a CA warehouse.
