Trex 500 or Logo 500 3D???

I like both heli's, but not sure which one to get.

Which one would you buy out of these two?

Align is notorious for making junk for the first few production runs and selling you upgrades to fix the problem. I would wait at least two years for them to get the bugs worked out.

Logos are great. I also like the align stuff. Second production runs and V2 always get better. I actually like the fact that Align improves their product based on the consumers input. I see it as a constantly evolving product.

Correct me if I am wrong but I believe that the trex 500 will be a 450 blade machine while the logo 500 is a 550 blade machine; so there will be a bit of stability difference.

How about a third option: You can get a logo 10 3D on the used section for an absolute steal. Looks like the airframe and blades run for 200-250. They are not selling at all right now. Sucks for the rest of us logo 10 owners but great for someone who wants to get in to one of these for a song and a dance. First massive crash, than upgrade the frame and a few other parts to make it a logo 500. Your other option may be a swift, although I can not comment on its quality or flight.

I have never heard of anyone complaining about a logo heli quality, fit, and finish. Plenty complain about the align. So try a used logo, if you dont like it, sell it off and get the trex after a few production runs.

Logo 500 uses 500 - 520 mm blades. http://www.espritmodel.com/index.asp...OD&ProdID=5653

500 class heli is 500 range motor size, so typically 385 - 450 mm blade size.

Align has some problems, but latest ones have few, and everyone else does the same thing.

But the reality is, if Align actually releases the Trex 500 in late Oct, figure 2 - 3months before the pipeline fills and everyone can get one, and about the same time for spare parts to be readily available.

Trex 500 has been reported everywhere from 400 - 450mm blade size.

I money is no object just get a logo 500 now Brovic it will definatly be much nicer Logos are like Cadillacs for helis I here.

The trex 500 wil be nice for a smaller cheaper alternative.

But I would trade it for a Logo setup anyday

hope I helped

So a 500 size helicopter has 500mm blades?
And a 500 class helicopter has a 500 motor?

I really donít understand that 500 size motor comment. I thought the Z50 was considered a 500 size motor and we run them with 10s and 12s LiPo with 620mm blades.

Is there some sort of an official definition of 500 size motor that these manufacturers are using?

RC Man, I wish there were one standard. I always try find out the weight of the helis - it's the best classification IMHO.

I also thought I read a rumour that the Rex will be in the 400mm blade ball park. So not entirely comparable to the Logo. The Rex should be no less than 500g lighter than the Logo if the blade length rumours are true, making it comparable to a Lepton.

How can you "like both helis" when (unless you know some REAL info that we don't) the Align 500 has not been released?
Apart from a "so what" canopy photo I've seen nothing that really discusses what this heli will be like. Sure you can assume that it's a small 600 / big 450 - maybe, maybe not.

If you assume it has all the same properties as the 450 / 600 then it's 'more of the same'.. and given that you don't seem very enamoured with the Trex 450 any more (based on comments that you have made in other threads) I'm surprised you'd even consider it.

I'd really like the Trex 500 to be substantially different to the 450 / 600 - and right now we just don't know.

Align 600 Nitro Pro has been out for only a few months now and all issues have been fixed.

So, Brovic, if you want to wait for all of the bugs to be worked out (if you consider a sometimes-bad-fan, a sometimes-bad-one-way-bearing, and bad canopy grommets major issues) then wait a couple months.

very true... I love my 600e BUT, its stock power system is on the weak side.. Yes I still run it but I am also not a HC 3d pilot... But I do hope they make the power system a little stronger on the 500

I will still be getting a rex500 since I already have my pre-order in... But does that make it the smartest choice... no it does not.

Align is Align, the 500 will be a decent heli but I relly dont think you can compare a rex heli vs a logo...

Logos are one of the best!

But there is no way you can tell these Align fanboys that

Hi,

I tested Align and Mikado stuffs and I prefer Align.

The reason? I was talked into buying a logo by Mikado Fan boys and was VERY DISAPOINTED. It was a logo 10 3D, I didn't like the way it flys at all and resold it. The persons that bought it flies aerobatic and mild 3D. With the exact same setup as me he was VERY HAPPY with the logo. I use to fly Hard 3D, and there was no way i could make it fly like I want. I prefer my TREX 450 and TREX 600.

The logos have their share of problems too. My logo 10 was stripping gears with the stock logo 10 main gear jazz 55 10 32 and neu 1910 and 7s lipo. My align helis do not strip gears.

However I never use Align stock power system. They don't know how to make motors, however, they know how to make helis IMHO.

For me it would defenitely be a TREX500 and resell the power system for a better one.

That is just plain false. The OS 50 does nto overheat on the TREX 600. Actually every TREX600N owner agrees that the TREX600N fan works great and the motor runs cool on this heli, cooler than on others. On my TREX600N the motor runs 87įC on the blue part(i don't know the english word for it ) max with a very agressive setting while doing hard 3D and the power is VERY VERY strong.

That is just another Align Bashing. Some people just like to bash align...

Maybe I should just get both!!

I like the Logo 500 3D because it flies around easier and it less heavy than my Raptor e550, and I can put 500mm blades on it.

With the Trex 500 it will probably fly alot easier than a Trex 450 which was hell for me to fly. I went to a Mini-Titan that IMO blows away the Trex 450 or any other 450 in stability. Hopefully, the T500 will be very stable.
