Hej Daniel!
Cool video! I suppose you are using a KPG 5.2:1 as well?
Can't wait to maiden mine with the same setup with a 15x18 prop (well I just have to build it first...). I don't have any 4S Lipos for it though - just 5S.

Great to hear you're back in the saddle!

Daniel,thanx for the video.
Stay further away from that fence, flying her on 5S battery,as she will be gliding longer.

Ready to ship to GA,USA

You need flaps on this thing for sure but again this is a drama plane and even with flaps I like to bring her in as hot as makes sense to show-off in front of all the old farts at our field

Yuri, your designs are getting more interesting every day. My X is ready for a new motor (Mega & KPG) so I can give her a 5S VIP treatment. The Hacker 8S has been doing very well after the repair even on longer motor runs.

I think I will replace the tail servo with a 09 as well.

Which would be the fastest setup for the x-plane f5d or f5b? Thanks

with the same amount of power you will get faster straight and level passes with F5D, But it depens what you mean with F5B,,, if you put on a 7x13 propp, would that be F5D or f5B ?

Bigger propps like 16x17 and gearboxes are generating HUGE power to climb, but it also draw twice the amp that a F5D setup would..

It all depens what you want.

Like sebbe said, A small high rpm prop would haul the X faster than the "hotliner" setup.

But is it more fun? I dunno... Flicking the go switch results in big grins and swear words from innocent bystanders with the big prop and lots of watts

You'll struggle to find a 32mm spinner suitable for conventional pylon props BTW.

Id like to see (AKA build/fly) an X with an 8-10" high pitched speedcup prop

Maybee ? I dont know, but I was thinking of buying a motor that could fit my new Carbon 7x13 folding propp made by German speed guy Marcus.... I was thinking around 1600-1900kv, and 4-5s lipo.. 5s would be insane..

But I think it has to be without gearbox..

But the question is, can the MEGA 16/40/2 take such abuse ? +100amps ?

(And also like Jacko said, around 10" with insane pitch 22-26",,, hehe
Of course, this one is with gearbox..)

Sebbe,

Bunch of guys own 16/40/2 , 16/40/2E , 16/40/1.5S and 16/40/1.5SE

They might be willing to test for you if you ship them your prop.

2 turn on 5S
1.5S on 4S to help get some idea if not able to get a 2 turn.

But they mostly run 5mm Combat shafts...if that works for you.

Or if you can think of an equivalent static load prop.

Gryphoon, I know "Thekid" at the Escape thread did some test with 4s lipo and a 7x10 cut down to 6x10 or 6.5x10, don remember, but his amps was lower then 100.

The problem with my propp, its a handmade propp folding, When my propp arrives, it will stay here, hehe, no way I will ship it again, I have waited 3 weeks allready for it..

But I think we can say this propp will draw a bit more then the 7x10 APC sport, and I know a few guys in the funjet thread thata are going with insane setups, so I know aproximatly how much the amps will be.. BUT my concern is, will the 16/40/2 take +100 amps with 5s lipo ?

On megas site thay say 40/1 will take 80 amps, and the 40/2 only 40 amps, I know their numbers could be pushed by far, but it seems the 40/2 only takes half the amps of the 40/1, and thats not good for my plans..

Sebbe,

In Strykers with the Ultimate cooling airflow to motor, that motor is run at 6S and 100+A
Funjet with smaller prop requirements at high speed (lower drag) should handle 7S with close to 100A for a 7 second run.
FJ has less cooling airflow to motor than Strykers.

This type airframe has even Less airflow to motor, but I think you guys operate the throttle for short durations.

I just don't know enough about this application, thanks to Jacko and others I'm reading/learning and enjoying it.

OK, but thats what I want to hear, if its good for +100Amps with 5s, then its good enough for me, the cooling is no problem, I will go for big inlet/outlet + double heatsinks, and only put full throttle like 3-5 seconds..

Nice.. Thanks..

ANd you know more then enough Gryphon, thats why I ask you..

Now I just have to calculate how much amps the 40/2 will be with that 7x13 propp..
