Alfa Mig-15 Brushless questions...

I just ordered the Alfa Mig and have a couple questions about the power system...? I have an extra Astro 020 803 motor setup - will this work in this jet -and- can I use my 8 cell Nimh 1800 batteries instead of the liPoly...?

Does the belly need to be glassed or covered for ROG like in the videos...?

Thanks

Both the motor and the cells would be to heavy, better stick with what is recommended.

Hey guys

Chris asked:

No, the bottom of the model is covered with a formed styrene shell that protects it against abrasion.

You could always buy the MP Jet 25/25-26 Mk2 in the 5:1 gearbox and remove the motor. I did that on the first one that I built. To remove the motor you remove the three screws from the gear housing, this gives you access to the 3 small screws that attach the motor to the gearbox. You also have to pull the pinion from the motor shaft.

A bit of a pain, but a possible solution.

Hey

Just thought of another possible solution. Also listed by Alfa as a motor for the Mig is the Model Motors "Mini AC 1215/12 (HL Part# PM512). The Kv of this motor is a bit higher than the MP Jet, but all of the other recommendations should hold up.
