and I wanted to say, the AP15 Yellowjacket is a good engine , you should just use another muffler with 5-6mm exhaust and a small prop , like 7x4 , then it will run like a moskito on speed.

I have a couple of the .09's One in original glow the other converted to diesel.

Both swing 7X4 props in Ukranian Combat wings and go like a cut cat.

my ap 09 does 30k with lifted exhaust and reso on a 5x3 apc.
the piston pin clip broke once at this speed , but i reworked it on a new P/L assembly, now its fine and steady.

I was told quite a while ago now, that the AP 09 was a consumer version of the Chinese SY 09 c/l speed motor that was marketed during the mid 1990's

They sure look identical!

a shame that they machine off the exhaust stud on the AP. The threaded reso adapter for my engine is breaking off really often.

I'm not sure what revs they spin, but they give lively performance in the Combat wing. Taipan 7X4 props

My AP .09 was revving about 16,900 rpm with a MA 7-4 prop, no muffler and 10%. It could still need a bit of breaking in. 15,200 with muffler, and 16,100 with the hole opened up on the stinger to 6mm. I had to make a new stinger and redrill and tap the muffler. The stock stinger can be unscrewed to give about a 5mm hole. It is an m6 thread. I made mine 6mm because that is the size for F2D combat although chances are slim I will run with them. I would need to get a little better to keep up with Pat.

Not sure if I posted pics here yet, but I made an adapter for a pipe, and a CL venturi and needle valve, more for the .15, but it would work on the .09 too.

I've spent a very wet Tuesday afternoon converting an almost unused Rossi C21 Buggy motor to use in control line. I bought it off ebay for about usd58 months ago.

It just needed a new sleeved spinner nut, a venturi and tangential NVA, and a DuBro 6.32 pressure nipple in the backplate. The tall head/cooling fins were cut off with a hacksaw and faced as shown. The prop driver and tapered collet were from another engine.

It has excellent compression, and while someone has run it, I'd guess that it wasn't for long.

The lugs are engraved with "GP Custom" and "GP #2", and there is some internal sculpturing of the crank web etc.

Anyone know who GP might be?

It shows an SY-15 c/l Speed engine of the same vintage as the 09 shown above. Looks like a Rossi 15 clone.

The ebay ad confirms that SY is now called Sanye, the manufacturer of the AP engines and a lot of other brands..

That Rossi 21 looks great mate. Can you squeeze it into one of your Classic B's. That could be a good way to use it.

Coincidentally, I got the RAL Micron off the shelf to convert today. There's still some work to do.
