My MXS should be here tomorrow, unfortunately My wife's says I can't open it until Christmas since it's supposed to be from Santa. We don't want to tip off my daughter.

I am using a YEP 45 amp ESC and the recommended Hitech servos, 3000mah batteries. Any other motor suggestions outside of the Torque motor, not that I'm opposed to the Torque motor by any means, just like to know my options. I'm a beginner 3d pilot. Thanks.

Motrolfly 2820-950 if you want to consider running 4s.

I'm running the Motrofly 2820-685 with 14x7 Xoar on my 48's, but I'm also using a ZTW 65 Gecko or Castle Edge lite 75

Thanks for the suggestions. I ended up ordering the Torque motor. I am going to run an external BEC to be safe, since I'm using the 45amp ESC, the HS 65s, and I will be running 4S 3000mah 35C batteries.

The external BEC is a good idea. When I read you were using YEP, a red flag went up. I had one of those fail and cost me my 64" MXS. I have never had an issue with a Turnigy AE series esc. It's all I use in that size range. A friend of mine switched from the Torque motor to a Sunny Sky and is very much pleased with the results. More power and more efficiency. Personally, I prefer the Torque, so you can't go wrong with that.

I'm not a big fan of the YEPs, however I have a never used one laying around and I have used the YEP45 on my Trex 450 helicopter for years and it's worked flawlessly.
