Help!
Multiplex Glider

My friend recently bought this model. It reminds me of an Alpina, but it has a 3 piece wing that bolts to the fuselage. Any info you can provide would be appreciated.

It has a solid blue canopy. The serial number begins with 93 and a space. Year of manufacture?

That's a Flamingo 2001. Better known was its electric version, the Kranich: http://wiki.rc-network.de/index.php/Kranich_von_Tangent

+1 for Multiplex Condor (I've got one that's slowly but none too surely being restored).

Possibly a modern interpretation / tribute to the Condor?

Thanks for the ideas, fellows. The mystery continues. This looks like the factory put it out as a 3 piece wing but I suppose it could have been modified by the previous owner.

It has 2 holes in the end of the tips and looks like it had detachable winglets at some point.

I believe the present owner estimated the weight at something like 13 lbs.

We used my SMM Death Match high start to get it in the air. It rose off the ground to about 30-40 feet and we hit the release. It flew well and the spoilers are rather effective. It's balanced using the silicone buttons on the bottom of the wings.

We would like to put it in the air with a TD winch before we tow it. The owner also has a Pilatus Porter with a DA100, so that should get the job done.

Thanks for the ideas so far!!

Dave

someone has hacked the wingtips - it should be 4.2m span & no winglets

Its an awesome beast of a plane

Condor

I have a Condor and it has a three piece wing. I believe all of them do. This is a big ship. It would be hard to imagine it configured any other way.

Okay, Condor it is! Thanks to everyone for solving this puzzle. We need to get this thing to a respectable slope.

It will probably be towed aloft first.

Thanks again!
