2 GWS ESC's

Is it necessary to cut one of the red wires in the 2 plugs to the receiver to prevent damage/ unstable operation ?

I use two Castle Creations Thunderbird 9 on a flying wing, fully connected, no problems. I think Castle officially allows that for the Phoenix series - there's a doc on their website about this.

Edit: (The first version of the original post didn't say *GWS* ESC :-) )
