I am new this.
Can I use a 12volt power supply like the one for your Vrx? (The small block you plug in the wall and then your 12volt device. It says 12v 500mA output)
I was hoping I could use one for testing and set up while I wait for my batteries. With the appropriate connectors of course.
Same question for a BEC would a 5volt one work?
I am also waiting for props, so safe time to config the KK2 and ESC's.
Thanks for any input.

No and probably No, (not quite sure on your use regarding powering the BEC).
I would not recommend using a wall power unit to power an ESC, or anything else radio related, (except for maybe charging the transmitter battery, depending on the voltage and charging current).
Wait for the flight batteries, (and I hope you have a Lipo charger and suitable power supply).
The receiver can be powered by a 4.8v to 6v pack if you want to set-up servos etc.
Do not use a 4.8v/6v and the BEC at the same time, one or the other.

The previous responders gave good answers to your initial questions.
Since you are new may I suggest you read this:
Good information there about the care and feeding of your batteries.
