Schedule

Here is the notional Schedule

Friday --
Field opens around 9AM for practice
Noon -- Fling your little thing contest -- 1 meter full house, 50" rudder elevator, semi-stock libelle contest
3PM -- Bob Hoover Memorial DLG Aerobatics contest -- 3 minute working time. Pilot must fly all the current AMA sportsman aerobatic maneuvers except takeoff and landing. Unlimited throws. Bonus points for doing all maneuvers in one throw.
Maneuvers are :
1) Half Reverse cuban eight
2) stall turn
3) double immelman
4) one horizontal roll,
5) half reverse cuban eight
6) immelman,
7) split "S"
8) two point roll,
9) half cuban eight,
10) two loops.
Maneuvers must be performed in the correct sequence and be semi-recognizable by the peanut gallery. Losing altitude during a maneuver is expected. Score is 100 points per completed maneuver in 3 minutes, bonus of 200 points for doing all maneuvers in one throw.
Saturday
8:00 Registration
8:30 Pilots Meeting
9:00 Flying begins
No round will start after 4:30 pm.
Evening Dinner at BubbaLou's near UCF.
Sunday
8:15 Brief Pilots Meeting
8:30 Flying begins
No official round will start after 2PM
Official rounds end -- Class trophies will be based on official rounds.
Post-official-round, optional, Sudden Death Top Gun Flyoff
Trophy Presentation.

How close to Orlando is the field for this contest?

Most would consider it the greater Orlando area.
About 20-30 minutes due East of downtown.
