BMJR Speckled P-30 freeflight airplane

Hi. There is no logical classified section for freeflight models so I am posting here. I know most freeflight modelers build their own birds but who knows, someone may be interested.

I am moving and downsizing, so I am/have been parting with some beloved models.

This is a version of George Perryman's original Baby-Speckled Bird that he (George) designed and flew to first place in P-30 at the 1978 NATS with a time of 11 min 13 sec. This BMJR version is based upon Georges' winning design but has been scaled up slightly with a 28" wingspan and 134 square inches of area along with a 30" fuselage length.

I built this particular bird in 2008 while spending the entire Summer at the campground of the AMA in Muncie, IN. I have never flown it but see no reason it should not fly superbly. Weight as it sits, without rubber motor, nor DT fuse is 42.7 grams. Build instructions and plan sheet will be included with sale. Asking 70 dollars postage paid, shipped in the Continental 48 US in an oversized model box to insure receiving it in same condition.

Very good airplane and nice job. Had one in the day when I could still jump fences and chase. Fun model when NOT wound to capacity, too.

Hi there,

That is a nice looking Speckled Bird! Is it still for sale? If so, I'll take it. phwilkins8@gmail.com. Best regards, Paul
