Is Jeti the only one?

I’m researching a new radio. My JR 12x DSMX is getting older. I really like a radio with a metal chassis. I also like the ability to fine tune the receivers antenna placement. It’s hard to find info of all the manufacture web site to compile a list of desirable attribute before I make a decision. The two main questions I have is who make a high end radio with a metal chassis and gives you feedback on the signal quality at the receiver end? I understand Jeti has telemetry which monitors signal quality and a metal chassis but who else?.

Other than the Jeti sets the only other current possibility might be the JR 28X, but I am not certain it does RSSI or an equivalent signal strength measurement as standard. The FrSky Horus might also fit the bill, but it is not available yet and timelines are not their strong point! TBH though almost everyone has moved away from a metal chassis as it is expensive to produce; though I do like the feel as a slope pilot it is a positive disadvantage to me, as the dratted thing gets too cold to hold!

If you can afford it, do it.

Best radio you will have. Check out the various product pages or the manual to get a glimpse of its capabilities, also in conjunction if the vast product line of Jeti.

the 28X only has internal frames in aluminium but casing is 100% plastic + crappy chromed front plate.

I would wait for X9E, is a matter of weeks, Jeti appearance and at least equal features, at 1/4 price.
Unfortunately, first batch is sold, wait list is more than one year

Hello renatoa, who has had a waiting list for X9E? Can not remember what Aloft Hobbies responded when I checked on the waiting list? T9 Hobby Sport has not had any such.

If you are starting to compare chinese knock off radios do it correctly. You are suggesting that you get the same thing for 1/4th of the price. I highly doubt that.

Show me a pic of the inside first. Will it have two independent RF modules?

Yes, it does, one internal and second as a plugin module, each or both active, could be on different bands, like 433 and 2.4G , for really better redundancy and interference protection.
If someone has an axe to grind and come at the field with a 2.4G jammer, no chance to fly with both modules in same band

Now my turn, right ? What about LUA scripts ?

Multiplex doesn’t have a metal chassis, but they have an optional unit, the ‘Souffleur’, that I find very useful when working on antenna placement. It’s a small pocket sized unit with an ear piece that reads out telemetry data from the receiver. Leaving the transmitter behind, I walk 100meters down the road with the plane. With the Souffleur setup to constantly read out the signal quality from the receiver, I slowly rotate the plane in every orientation to the transmitter, and can easily find any angle where the quality might drop dramatically.

I know that I am on the Aloft Hobbies "Horus Waiting List" since 2014-10-18 21:42 but can not remember if my request was also applicable to X9E. Hope so because I was so happy when I knew I was on the waiting list, and now maybe I'm not on the right list. Time will tell, but I will be very angry if I miss the first batch.

SORRY for the hijacking, but I just had to vent a little...

Haaaaaaaaaaa, haaaaaaaa
You are funny, my yellow Dacia was like Mercedes SLK (Has 4 wheels and Engine)
No Dacia was better, it had 4 seats

Yup it's completely like Jeti, I like that. Maybe like the copy/poor cousin.
