RNFLY, do you think the 1500 watt resistor would be ok in a fan cooled chassis vented case? Nice photo showing the comparative sizes of the resistors next to the icharger!

This resistors don`t need a fan for the rated power, when they standing (or hanging) free. However there is much heat radiation at full power. Therefore the environment should be free of flammable things.
No problem, to put it into a fan cooled chassis (like my lamp tube). In this case of active cooling, the 1000watt version could be also sufficient.
My suggestion, first try it without a case. Perhaps, a heat plate reaches? If not, you can already put it into a vented case.

What about this resistor! Would it run much cooler than the wire wound power resistor? Maybe this needs to be constantly fan cooled!
