I had this EXTREME FLIGHT 220kv motor in back draw for couple of years so finaly I decided to fit it in this 2meter H2K cheapo EXTRA that was collecting dust just as well. After few bench tests using various props motor gets pretty warm running on 10S so might cut down props or try 9S.
Stand offs had to be extended to 130mm to fit the covel and theres lot of room to move batteries around. Horrendous wet weather spell outside so back to building, Joe.

So what size is this plane? 65" or 2 meter (80")?

No instruction manual with this model so there are few things left to your imagination. My initial thought was this kit is for E-power but looking at at closer I believe its designed for 25-30cc IC, having a tunnel for the tune pipe/canister. There are no parts for Rudder instalatlion so I built up new provision for MG servo and X-wire pull-pull hook up. All other controls are well designed with strong double horns, ball links and 3mm L&R th. push rods. Major floods outside so back to building, J.

160A, ESC fitted to the canister tunnel for best cooling position with some air vents left open at the rear of fuse. Elevators fitted with new extention leads soldered to connect RX. Few more static test will be performed to check current, watts and RPM, selecting right prop before my test flights, J.

Is that the Turnigy DLux 160HV? I am thinking about using it in my next project.

Yes it is, I don't particulary like its enclosed design an no mounting tags, but hopefully it won't melt-down as this set up draws only 75Amps, J.

I have not decided yet if I will go with it, I plan on pulling 130-140 through it. Keep me updated on its performance. I read the reviews and they seem positive, but, taken with a grain of salt.

Just looking at that ESC, I wouldn't like to pull out of it more then 100-120A. J.

I just finished testing 4 different props and putting down all figures to compare. Above motor is recommended for 88' Extra, that I would be very concern to power it with. I was supplied with it APC22x10E which would bring down this
motor to meltdown state in no time reading 85A/3000W/5200Rpm.
Slightly better figures using T20x10wood at 73/2650/64-6500.
Cutting it down to 19&3/8 and rounding the tips nicely I got 55/1850/6400 with impressive 7+kg static pull.
Another try was T/SF20x10wood resulting in 64/2100/6000.
So it will be one of the two above that will suit this 76" size model IMO, J.

All ready for test flights, but have to wait a while for the field to dry out after this weeks floods, J.

Just back from the field hoping to maiden it but it was horrendously windy 30-50km/h!! I was tempted but it wouldn't be pretty, instead had few flights with my hotted up "Mirage" handling the wind gusts lot easier. Hoping it will settle in the morn, J.

Had a 3min quickee this morn after some work at the field, very pleased with it, I think it will be very enjoyable model after few adjustments. I was only guessing my CofG position, it was considerably nose heavy so I got heaps of room to move batteries back. Analyzing my video footage, I had couple of nasty scares but all it needed was some power to get out of it. Motor was pretty cool, after this short flight, back on charge to see how much current I drawn during my short test flight, J.
