Rascal 40 Convert
Looking to convert a Sig Rascal 40 (72" wing) from glow to electric. Tired of the fuel mess and temperament engines. Not having much luck with any 2 cycler installed upside down either. It's a great aircraft otherwise and interested in Plan B.
Reading the threads and my head is about to explode. LOL Any help in powerplant/battery/prop size is appreciated.

I am flying the Rascal 72 that is electrified. I'm running a Rimfire 32, Castle 75amp ESC, with a 13x8 prop. I am running anything from a 4s3300 up to 4s 4400. I also have the medium motor mount from great planes...made for the Rim Fire motors.
On 4400 with throtle management and using the wind to glide some, I can fly for nearly 20 minutes.
Depending on battery placement I can even hover it in low winds. Fun plane.

It started about 10 years ago, here, http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=143247 my conversion starts at thread #209 and on....
Motor is AXI 2826/12 on 3S6000(need the nose weight!) on APC 15x8.
Later switch to a 4S4000 and 13x8, less torque from the smaller propeller made the ground handling on take offs mush easier.
The AXI2826/12 has a Kv of 760. I am sure you can find a Turnigy or equal motor much cheaper these days.

See if this helps.
Myself, I would shoot for @100 watts/pound.
