Motor: Turnigy D3536/5 1450KV
ESC: 60A opto
Batteries: 3s 5000mah
Prop: APC 9*6E
Servos: Hitec HS65HB
BEC: Seperate 3A

OSD - DOSD+ V2 with BARO/Temp/ARDU IMU V2/Air Speed sensor (Bought off Shikra)

RC - UHF

I don't recommend using the common cheap blue servos frequently used on these. I like those servos, but not strong enough for this....

I was there swith Bignose13 too. Was great to see it fly. Beats my Skywalker for sport flying. Will almost certainly have to get one on the back of this review

Wow, that Black Condor is fast!..... flies a lot different then the White 1900mm wings?

Is it that much different?
Also, did you reinforce the tail section? My old SkyWalker had a very very wobbly tail/boom.

Just to be completely open....
I received this model for review for free from fpvmodel.com
I paid import tax and shipping only.
Review is unbiased - no pressure from the guys there.
No relationship / emails / purchases prior to their offer for a review model

About fpvmodel.com....
First time have dealt with them. Good communications and very trusting to send the kit to me more review...!
Iíd be happy to buy from them based on this and the other ones that have purchased with no issues.

What you really want to know.... What does it fly like?
Less self stabilising than the standard 1680 type wings with dihedral
More stable in wind / turbulance. Wing doesnít flex.
Turning with aileron it holds the angle much more like a real plane
Rudder helps quite a bit more in the turns
This one had a nice straight rear boom / tail. Hurrah!
Doesnít glide quite as well.
Didnít feel flaps were necessary for landing.
The bad - it burns noticeably more juice to stay up.
30 minutes ona 3s 5000 is still easily achievable
More enjoyable to fly as a pilot. More agile. More fun...

I like it.....

What you really want to know.... How strong is that wing? !
This black EPO appears more dense and heavier than my white 1680 one
The spar is pretty strong.
For normal flier - you will not need any strengthening.....
The whole wing hardly flexes in comparison with the earlier popular v3 models.
I fly gentle on the 1680 - conscious of the wing strength. I donít with this one... Happy.....

Other positives:
Big plus - wing is interchangeable with other models - one plane / two different flying styles...
A bit less flex than my white EPO one.
Wing mounting is stronger there rubber bands go over rear
This one is first one I seen without banana shaped boom!

Negatives:
The flight time is only significant one
Elevator EPO hinge is too tough to use. The wing ones are actually quite usable.

Future improvements Iíd like to see...
The return of the old flat style cockpit canopy foam as well as This one. Easier to mount big cameras.
Optional bracing to top the tail/stabiliser flexing so much
Extra moulding inside fuselage to create an optional component tray in the rear high area of the main compartment area - keep the entire floor free for batteries
Maybe some alternative hinge solution - Something quick like multiplex style
More cooling airflow in the compartment many use for the ESC

@bignose13: Your review seems to contradict with many other success stories. I think the most important factor is where your CoG is set at.

Everyone who is doing a review, please tell us your CoG location

....thanks for the review.... you use 3s-5000mah flight lipo. I can only imagine
how this plane flies with;

4s 6000mah flight lipo,
Scorpion v2 3014-1040kv,
9x6 APCe prop,
ESC 60amp.

It will be more powerful, but cruising amps will be lower.

p.s.
what was your Cruising amps on 3s-5000mah?

I'm going to get this 1800mm version instead of the 1900mm....

.....also, can you guys give me a LINK for the motor mount?

whats the easiest way to safely mount a powerful motor.
I don't trust gluing that round motor mount directly onto the foam motor mount area....

Can't help on the CoG, but I was with Simon and he was very happy with the performance. I had a go too and it was great. What were the contradictions?

I was expecting it to be slower and more glider like with a bigger wing than mine (a 1680 v2), but in reality I would agree it felt a little bit more sporty than the other SW - but still very gentle compared to say a funjet!. I thought it was nicer to fly.

Another one to buy.... lol

I can prob answer - Si is working 12 hour shifts this week ..

He was showing about 8-9a on the cruise clip. I have a 1680 with same kv, but different motor and thats 6-7a I think.
The OSD is fairly well calibrated - I know - its my old one!!

He flies like a nutter most of the time though so most people would probably get much longer flights!....

and your motor mount question... Prob best look in the main skywalker thread. A lot put some dowels into the foam and screw the circular ply base into that. Didn't notice what Si did, but I cut a new larger circular ply mount, smoothed off the foam and stuck it to it with some cyano. Then screwed motor into that.

Thanks Gary
Yeah 12 hour shifts are a bit of a killer, ah well pays the mortgage

Yeah cruise is at 8 amps on the Turnigy and like Gary said the current sensor is smack on, I actually tested with an Amp meter when I bought the OSD off him (he's a bit dodgy see) But like Gary said, I do fly a bit crazy with my planes so I think 45 mins is quite doable with a 5000 I use, I can get easy 20 mins the way I fly and I'm more than happy with that
As for the COG, cant help on that yet as I'm stuck in work and my workshop is not by my house when I get in so cant measure till I'm off shift, sorry, but i'm pretty sure it's not far of the V3 Skywalker I have
As with the Motor mount, I just epoxied mine onto the Skywalker, it worked well on my old V3 so didnt think it be an issue on this one
Cheers and thanks Gary
