Thank for all your replies, it appears that the most import part of this not to put
too much weight in he PT boat, it would also appear that there is no set standard as to how you power your boat as long as you don't over power the model to the point of creating a jet plane.

I use two side motors with a center dummy prop that I remove before running.

I've got a 1/24 scale PT (proboat PT109) .. runs twin the "stock" 550 cans ... was "fast enough" stock

but I've made a few small changes... and I'm impatiently awaiting for the 35mm brass props

as for the weight I needed to ADD weight to my twin setup (by way of batteries... proboat said 2.. i've got 4 in there) to get proper waterline ..etc .. and it still gets up and hauls

Who is Frank?

It is: Frank's Mosquito Boat Hobbies, the guy to go to, for 1/20th, and 1/16th, PT Boat models, and upgrade parts. He also has some parts for, or that will work on the 1/24 scale boats. CaptCB

3 motors is awesome!! 3 brushless motors and esc's will cost a fortune unless you get them at hobbyking. One shaft and motor was suggested more for simplicity than any other reason! Wayne traxel sells a lot of his hulls thru ebay by the way. They start at about 225.

Hi Everyone been away for awhile now I,m back. Thanks for all your replies
I have been in contact with Franks Mosquito Boats and bought most of the
parts I needed, I have also been busy developing some of my own gun kit
barrels for the 50 Calibre machine guns will be developing a barrel for the 40 mm Bofors gun also at a later date.
I hope to have the The OH Frankie PT Boat 309 in the water by the 1st of June.
