Aeromarine Avenger 36
Look familiar Ray?
![]() I actually got this last week but didn't post photos at the time because I was planning a "secret project" but times and moods change. Should I wait 6 to 10 weeks for a 2215/1Y or choose an alternative power method? 4/4/13: My new Avenger cat arrived from Kintec Racing. The box it came in didn’t look too great so won’t bother with any pix of it. (It got wet coming off the UPS truck as we were having a really hard rain at the time and it basically turned one side of it into goo). The hull itself looks great though, no shipping damage. Weight fresh out of the box came in at 5 lbs 10 oz. with hull hatch and the assorted pieces of tape holding down the hatch and protecting the sponson bottoms. The monster sized hatch makes one think of dropping a small block Chevy in it but we all know that’s not going to happen. And with it lifted you can see it’s all good quality glasswork inside Remy sure seems to know what he’s doing when it comes to making cats. My old Sprintcat .40 has been probably the best handling boat in my fleet and this is just a slightly larger and much better looking version of it. The Avenger measures a fill 36” from front to rear on the top half. The lower is 35.5” from sponson transom to sponson tip. The Spintcat although advertised at 36” is in reality only about 34.25” The Avenger has a slightly wider beam as well measuring in at 14.5” compared to 14” on the Sprintcat. Since all I have at the moment is the hull that’s about as far as it’s going to get for a while. I’d like to put a Neu 2215/1Y 1440 kv motor in it as a single but haven’t ruled out a pair of HET 700-83 1445 kv motors in it. If I were just playing around I’d for sure go with the twin setup but not sure the allotted 10,000 ma max battery capacity would last for a 4 minute heat of Q offshore. With a single I could run two 6s 5000’s in parallel for 10,000 ma total where if I run twins it’s only going to allow 5000 ma per motor.

I'm glad you came along and found this Ray. What did you use to build up the hull transom to match the lid on yours?
I'd kind of like to have this one built before the Waveblasters race but at the same time I'd like to try out a 2215. I think the 1440 kv would be a good one for Q. |

If Steve had the 2215's in stock I'd already have one coming this way but haven't pulled the trigger on having him special order me one yet. Starting to think about the 1530/1.5D. It's a 1355 kv motor and by the Neumotors chart is rated the same as the 2215 for continuous and peak watts. (He has one of them in stock too) http://neumotors.com/Site/1500_series.html http://neumotors.com/Site/2200_12_series.html |

Starting to think I'll have Steve order the 2215 and put my old 1717 in it to play with until the Neu arrives. I'll set it up for 4" rail mounts and then can fit pretty much anything in it. Already checked South River and he has mounts for both the 2215 and 1717 available for 4" rails. |

Thanks Chris. No big rush though unless you just want to drop by.
I may be working on this one for a while. (mostly waiting on stuff to arrive). I haven't even ordered a strut & rudder for it yet, but did pull the trigger for the 2215 with OSE today. It's paid for, now I just have to wait for it to be built.

I finally took the hatch back off and took a look at the seams Daz. It came with them pre taped as far down the sponsons as I could see. The carbon inlay in the rear portion actually comes up past the seam lines as well.
The 1st piece of build hardware arrived today. I ordered the 240 Ice from Tower last week. (good old super saver discount coupon that dropped it from 339.00 to 289.00 with free shipping). It showed up at work today and when I got home found a big square of G10 tucked in behind my mailbox. Thanks Chris. ![]() I'm going to eventually have to start working on actually building this one.

Thanks Dave. I was planning to talk to you Sunday and have you mark one of those jackets for me.
It will be a while before I actually need it but knew where to look for one. I was thinking about some of those nice aluminum rails you make too.
