Nitro, looking good. A transmitter with a servo travel speed adjustment would be good on these!

Any sense of when you might have these available for purchase on the Shapeways site?

Thanks to support received from a humble rcgér, I have been able to place an order for a bunch of revised units for testing. Shipping out around the 21st Nov.

John, as soon as they work....

I have a sub gram servo slower here that will slow a full travel down to 6 seconds I will be using as I only have a DX7.

Awesome! I`ve been wondering about the progress on these, but didn`t want to bug ya. Looking good. I have a brand new PZ P-51 that I stripped all of the gear out of about a year ago.

I want to do a cool paint job and set it up with a brushelss power system and retracts.

There`s also plenty of power from the 30-35mm fans to add some of your button retracts to a Nano edf.

Retracts for Micro EDF is where this is headed but it's easier to thump test them on a warbird of similar size.

Just have to sort out a weird graphics error that occurs in the UI of 3DSMax on my new windows 8 comp and I can get into designing the steerable version.

Thanks for the offer Jahel but plenty of images on the web if I need it.

Just got notification the new button retract order is now in the print queue.

Worked out how to get around the weird graphics prob too so back into this week.

Nitro, just a wild thought.

Given that the steerable versions in this size are so weak and that your design is a circular housing... Wonder if it would work if you made the whole housing rotate. Like a cylinder inside a cylinder. Would make a much stronger mechanism and require no redesign of the toggle part. Nice thing is it doesn't require any change or adjustment to the servo or rods which will be fiddly at this size.

I'm thinking that for anything in the 150g range, (maybe even larger) that a thrust vector setup or thrust differential on a twin would provide enough steering.

John, way ahead of you...

There will have to be a few variations to suit different models though, I think.

Ain't that Shapeways stuff great! Think it - make it.

I only need some sets of normal taildragger mains for now ....but if you can make a strong rotating leg for steering that way you can probably make rotating mains for a micro P40.

Wow, wow, wow!!!

Just received the next version of my button retract and the print quality is amazing!

The unit operates right out the box and is so smooth and free. I'm buzzing!

I took video of the 'unboxing' and operation right out the bag which I will post as soon as I can.

I've also sketched up a steerable version which I hope to model soon.

So are the mains good enough now to put up on the site for sale for those of us who only need two wheels to go up and down? Hint, hint.

So it wasn't entirely clear - are you happy with them?
