Hello,

I am new here. To my person : I flew rc planes 35 years ago and I started heli flying 4 years ago. 3 years ago I planned to build a WIG.

First try was a paper model of a Tandem Airfoil Flairboat, a WIG from a german ingeneer living near to my home : http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tandem_Airfoil_Flairboat

This model did not work. Every time it started to lift from the ground it went high in the air and overturned.

Next try is a model of a Lippisch Design (reverse delta) which is used in several commercial WIGS, e.g. Airfish 8 : http://www.fischer-flugmechanik.com/...lized_airfish8

The first 10 meters on a street : http://www.partyfotos.de/heli/wig/DSCN1647.MOV

Now I orded depron and servos and 3 gyros, I want to build a new model. Gyro for rudder and elevator is planned. Maybe I use the 3. one for the ailerons.

I will report my next steps.

My WIG Site : http://www.partyfotos.de/heli/wig/

My Heli Site : http://www.partyfotos.de/heli/

My other hobby : Seach and Rescue Dog Work in the German Red Cross : http://www.partyfotos.de/siva/

Greetings from Germany

Bernd

You might start with a Hobby King Skipper.

Hey guys,

I have been messing around with WiG gliders, and have become very successful with them, as well as very intrigued...

I now would like to make a powered, and controllable WiG.

My concerns are control as well as thrust line etc...

Are there any plans out there for successful WiG designs? (I am not looking for a dual purpose... I would prefer a properly designed WiG in that it stays in GE and wont climb out of GE.)

Wow! Now that is an interesting plane. Small and straightforward to build, in and out of GE, fast and slow. It ticks all the boxes!

Thank you for posting.

Nice plane but not really ekranoplan yet...
You should curve the bottom between the floats to generate the ground effect !
It has a very good design, very interesting !

Very nice.

if I may, quick question, if it is being flown level IGE with neutral trim, after climbing to OGE, does it need nose up trim to fly level OGE?
