Aerofilm is Same as Solarfilm!!

I am getting ready for recovering of my Pepsi-Cola Stinson Reliant and want opaque white covering . Solarfilm is no longer sold in the US under that name but Stevens Aero assures me that it is identical in opacity, etc.

So, If you don't want to see framework against the sunlight on your scale model, Aerofilm from Stevens Aero should do the trick.

I like white Monokote...Solarfilm seems really " gummy" to me, but if it works for you....

I was going to use Monokote if I couldn't get Solarfilm but I am recovering sections of the Stinson rather than the whole bird, covered originally with Solarfilm white with lower temperature dark blue trim. I salvaging Callie's Pepsi Cola graphics. Monokote is a little too aggressive for Tritle's structures. The white pigment is probably in the adhesive of Solarfilm/Aerofilm which is why it is more opaque than films with color in the mylar. It does get all over the covering iron.

I tried Lightex from The World Models, it has a white backing on colors and is really opaque. They also make Toughlon which is a heavier covering.

Here's a picture of my Supersized Gee Bee Z from Manzano, which is covered in Lightex.

Solarfilm and Monokote both use adhesive for color.

I thought all of the films had the color in the adhesive.
