Can someone point me in the direction of places to get things like Booms or pods as I am going to scratch build my own F3J model. I have access top an old damaged Supra centre panel whch I will be stealing the spar from for my center panel.

Or does anyone have bits from damaged models they would part with? If I could get a couple of matching tip panels or tails etc, broken or in good nick, it would save me some time.

Doesn’t sound like scratch building, more like scavenging.
Are you going to build a “Frankenplane”?

There's a few people out there (myself included) that mould fuzzes / pods etc. but I rather think the postage may ruin the deal...

Have a look at some of the older F3x designs (they used wings with straight sections rather than curved LEs / TEs and can therefore be easily copied in foam) at www.aerodesign.de - Good source of inspiration.

If the spar in the CP is good enough to consider using for another wing, it suggests that you could fix the CP and then hunt for some tips in need of a home, or make bagged or even built up tips to suit.

Could help if you were local, but otherwise postage is a killer.

I was planning to build one from scratch, but need a model together by April. WOuld be no worries, EXCEPT, I have lost my workshop as we sold our house and are living at the in-laws.

I have my resins and cloth, but no bench, no hot box, no marking out table/cloth cutting table, no vac pump (I can get this from the storage container). And most of all, zero space to build as there is no work bench at the in-laws place.

So yes, am kinda hoping for a frankenplane, but have a mate about an hour's drive away who has a full composites set-up. But is tricky finding time+2hours driving to build. Not to mention, repeated set-ups etc. That is why I don't think I could build one by April. As last resort, that is what i will do.

Test flew it Yesterday. Seems to keep up with the others. I have no experience with F3J ships, so can't compare to any other airframes apart from B and F ships.

But man do I love this plane!
