These delays are disappointing, but I'd rather they get it right first time (I'm in the lucky position of being able to wait - my only alternative TX is the Jeti DS16, which isn't out yet and will be much much pricier).

I think it was said that the second Tx will have two screens, from which I infer that the X9D will have one, probably obscured by the strap or beer belly, as usual. I do hope it's not another JR 9303 look-alike though I'll probably buy one anyway.

Here is a posting of display positions and I also read that frsky are using an existing molding for the x9d but new moldings for the x12d and x16d. so seems that x9d display will be below so we will need to wait for the others for a useful display!

I fear you may be right, in which case I may just as well go for the 9X-R.... I have no need for the 12 or 16 ch versions...

Yeah, but nothing about X9D reusing an existing shell from another radio

Well I suppose they are doing it that way for speed and cheapness, if it works and does what I want though I will probably get one! The telemetry will be used more for data logging and alarms, the main one for me would be an altimeter to see how high I can get my dlg!
I am starting to question whether I actually need any telemetry now though lol, seeing as I time my flights and never had a problem with flat batteries early, and my dlg can go for over 4 hours between charges so never really gonna have a problem there either!
My dx6i is now full with extra models now not having any controls for them so I do need another tx so it really depends on price/quality of this unit as to whether I go for this or something else.
I see that there is an orange tx module for spektrum stuff that I hope will fit this tx so that I can put my dx6i aside and use this for everything.
