Thanks for that idea. I was about to make a LHS run today to pick up more socks, will be stopping by the Thrift store instead.

I use hollow core doors that you can buy from home depot or some such. They tend to be fairly level and they are large enough to set a model onto. Also the hollow core allows for t-pin usage.
Also decent advice when building, sometimes just walk away. Come back to it later.
EDIT: I went to the thrift store and bought some baby socks. They are the worst, I should have gotten the full dress socks as mentioned in the post. I got some that were close, they seem to be wearing out faster than an actual iron sock. The bright side is I essentially got 4 of them for what 1 iron sock costs.
