4s doesn't have to be heavier than 3s. In fact there is a sound argument that for equal power the 4s will be lighter because amps will be lower so ESC can be smaller.
Anyway.... I'm sure your 3s set up will fly the Laser fine but it's a plane that comes into it's own in high energy manoeuvres (like the Doc's videos show) so I think you will be missing out if you fly only on 3s. After all the Laser was designed from the ground up for 4s. |

I changed my Setup from 3s to 4s on my EDGE. Like it more now. It is only 50g more weight, but i did Not recordnice it.
It is floaty as before. The extra bunch of the 4s Setup give me a bettet feeling and the savety, i Know, i can get out of trouble. I was always looking look on the weight, but it is Not worth on these airframes. Bernd |

If you're ever going to fly it fast, certainly. Since you already have the gears on hand, why risk flting without them?
