Build Log
Little Red Dragon

My latest project is a park Flyer, a small red dragon.
Built from Depron 6 mm, with CFRP bars.
The wing as a flat plate, without KFM.
The hull with head, neck and abdomen is from 6 mm Depron, inside are battery, receiver and motor Controller, they have enough space.
The dragon is controlled by the delta tail with 2 servos.
Wingspan 900 mm, length 700 mm, weight 270 g
Hacker A10-13L motor, prop GWS 7035, YGE 12 A, Lipo 3S850.

I´ll add some pictures of the construction period.

When the wind is weaker, I will make the maiden flight the next days.

When the dragon flies well, then I´ll upload a short video on Youtube and publish the link here.

I like dragons and have one on my build list (one day). Found a book of paper dragons from Klutz that I scanned and blew up to make a foamy glider.

Watching closely....

Will add polyhedral (like in ezfly) to tame the dragon so be used as dragon trainer..
Or add a rudder and make it a crazy dragon

Awsome job on the design, build and paint job.

Will there be plans uploaded in the near future? My friend and I have been tearing our hair out trying to design such a dragon, although having the electric motor mounted from the back of the head.

Once again, outstanding job!

today my Little Red Ragon did his maiden flight, successful! Well the CoG Need some fine tuning.
The engine was first fitted with negative camber of 3 degree, lot to much, now it flies better with 0 degree, as I had on my F 22 with good results.

Video, taken form ground will be edited next time and then uploaded to YouTube, linked here.

Plans are created in Corel Draw and I will them upload here later as PDF file, as soon as they are finally checked.

First Picture from maiden attached.

Little Red Dragon - Plans PDF-File

after one more flight, the CoG was adjusted in the plans for a stable flight, the CG can be set about 10 mm forward or 10 mm backward, test it out.

I wrote my build log in german, and I attach it as PDF file, you can use Google Translater to read it.

The plans also are attached as PDF file, you can use both for free, for non comercial use.

Enjoy!

Just copy|paste the text your interested in into translate.google.com If it was a web page, google Chrome would translate automatically.

Not the best translation in the world, but close enough to get the gist.

@ baronbernie
if you download not only the plans, but also the pdf called "Baubericht" you´ll find in this pdf all informations needed, also the dimensions. The span is 900 mm, hope this will help you, to get all measured out of the plans.

And yes, use Google translator: just copy and paste the text from the "Baubericht"-PDF to Google and you get the Translation.

This Red Dragon" construction basicly is very similar to the F-22 EPP depron parkjet from Dekan, found here in the Forum:

Next days the weather forecast is very bad, rainy days, so perhaps, I´ll have the time to edit my Video in Premiere and upload it next week.

When it will be uploaded, I´ll post the YT Link here.
