if no LED goes up after few second, it is a problem of I2C communication.
=> maybe
- a wrong cabling (SDA SCL inversion ?)
- a dead WM+
- a good WM+ which does not match my init code
It is not a RC problem.
Can you post a photo of your WM+ ?

My opposite rudder commands seam to be due to the way I have my servo mounted.

There are 2 different problems:
- the yaw channel sense => can be solved by reverting RC channel in the radio
- the gyro correction sense => can be change by reversing a sign in the code

P I D settings are global for pitch and roll axis.
PYAW is only for YAW (DYAW and IYAW does not exist as there are 0)

Okay - I have made a little progress - green light on Arduino is now solid green but still no controls from tx - I tried yaw stick lower right to start but nothing - Any ideas?

Hi,

If green LED is flashing, this is a good start: the WM+ communication is OK.
But the flash means there is now a problem with your rc TX/RX.
You should recheck the connection between your RX and the arduino.

Ok, good news.
several things to try:
- increase your ATV on all channels (125% for spektrum should be good)
- you'll maybe have to reverse some channels in your radio
