After taking a few months off to concentrate on some flying, I'm back on the 'brush' and starting to knock out some new stuff. This time on a Flame3D, the airframe being designed and produced by Mark at MT Graphics.

Thanks Hornetnz,

The Monster scheme is for the UK Nationals and will be fitted with green LED's - which should look awesome Mark's promised to send me some pics of the completed airframe, which I'll post as soon as I have them.

I'm also getting my own Flame3D to try. Just a question now of coming up with a nice scheme for it

What kind of material are you using for the templates and how did you cut it all out?

Templates are from 3mm Depron. I usually mark the outline of the wing etc, straight onto a sheet of depron, draw a design, then cut it out with a sharp scapel. Then it's just a matter of pinning or weighting it down for spraying. The beauty of using this method is there reusable and you can take out or drop in sections for different colours, drop shadows etc.

Thin lines were done using 3M fineline tape. Lettering was all cut from Frisk using a CraftRobbo cutter. Flag on the tail was simply hand cut from a piece of A4 paper, then fixed with a quick mist of UHU Power spray.

Remember though, if you intend to paint on EPP masking mediums like Frisk don't stick so sometimes you have to be a little creative. I've even resorted to applying small dabs of UHU POR to individual letters. Painstaking, but works ok

Here is a partial (and the better side at that) first attempt at airbrushing before assembly. Thanks for all of the inspiration and information.
