You will need at least 20Ah to get 3 hours of loiter time in dead air.

With surfaces that large, you might need multiple high torque servos per control surface. The last thing you want is your elevator to not be able to pull the plane out of a dive.

Hi ashdec87,
for the ailerons i was Planning to Run two Hi tourqe MG Digi servos.
and for the flaps i was planning on 3 standard Sized MG servos..
and yes Crashing this baby would be a nightmare! come true!

im Thinking of using these (because of there good review and being Slim enough to fit in the wing) for ailerons

and these for Flaps
and maybe these for Flaps and Elev (elevator will be Split into to Portions so if one portion fails ill have to other portion still in my control)

nope.. biggest i built Was and 120inch Slope glider... (which sadly met its Demise due to Dumb thumbs.. ) so i get the Jist .. i know im gonna be Focusing on strength.. Due to the Large wingspan of this aircraft
+ i am also studying Physics So i understand the Flight forces it has to undertake.. And have done Plenty Research as to large scale Construction technique

Are you going to use an autopilot? Just a FPV? Just a standard model for the field? I think you could do some great long range UAS jobs with this.

The FAA will license UAS soon, so you can fly anywhere without getting into trouble.

First a LOS Regular model... Then FPV and then ill fit the Ardu-pilot (autopilot) board... and do Some nice long Range UAS and RPV work.. and My PC will be the Ground station... (with joystick control for the Long range RPV (im going to see what i can do to Contact the FAA in terms of UAS licensing.. )

Its FPV, not RPV The FAA won't have jurisdiction over you, you're in GB, no?

Let me tell you from this point, while its good to plan ahead, you're looking way to far into the future. First focus on designing it, then build it, if you're planning for all of these things you are bound to get sidetracked.

IMO, (not that I've tried it) Joystick flying is overrated unless you have a full cockpit setup. Ardupilot is abit weak as well.

Now, for a few questions:
What are you building it out of?
Are you going to get the cross-sections lasered or milled?
Are you going to be glassing it?
What radio are you running? (just curious)

Again, don't even think about FPV yet, it can be difficult to learn about (most people would consider it alot to take in), and you'll likely get more interested in that and loose sight of this project.
