Question
Team Edge Kart bodies and painting?

Had friends over last night and as the story goes we had to much to drink. A few hours later I decided to break out my kart. The kart took hits from my car tires, walls and even a lamp pole. Sad to say its scratched bad. If I was to paint the front nose can I use any paint or does it have to be enamel?

Are you serious? Use spray paint. Most if not all do and stay away from the hard stuff bro.

We use a specific paint designed for plastics for our spec karts. Now for karts like yours, custom builds, we use a simple DuPont spray. Some do it yourselfers choose Rusto and Testor. Its a matter of choice. Just use something durable. I'd go with Rusto personally. My personal kart is Rusto with extra clear. I agree also, LAY OFF THE HARD STUFF!

You giving me a hard time Motty? I asked a basic question as certain paints eat plastics. Did you know that my friend? Layoff and grow up.

Buy you a new nose piece its easier to paint than trying to file and sand your old one. If not go with Rusto as everyone suggested. Testors to thin and fades.

Your right Doug and Brian. My first McDonalds kart was toast after a few races. Don't worry about it and run it as it is.

I didn't go today and took the time to respray my front end as it was in bad shape. It's not dry but once I put it back together I'll show the end result. Right now its solid green. Robert also is sending me a bumper to put on for future hits and scratches.

I used clear tape and made marks then place the clear tape on the body for drilling the new bumper holes.

How did you use the clear tape Fixit? I have the same issue with my new bumper. I tried measuring the hole space but it doesn't align right. Its always off so I gave up.

You can also place a piece of small paper on the back side of the mount and then poke the mounting holes in the paper. Center up the holes in the paper and mark them on your bumper. I did mine that way.
