I'm gutted I was up until 4am this morning trying to get my Bixler 2 ready, but I am still about 3 hours away from having it done. It is definitely not FPV friendly compared to the Bixler. Because of the tubes they have added in so you can screw on the wings, you can't get anything down inside the body, so I had to cut a hole in the side to fit everything in. They have also put cheeks to support the battery up in the nose, but they are too narrow to fit my Turnigy 2650 nano tech battery in. Also why if it's FPV friendly did they make the canopy smaller than the Bixler, making it harder to get anything in! Grrr

I can't even fly my quad because I pulled it to bits to put my Eagle Tree OSD and DL2 on and stripped my Turnigy X9 to flash the firmware. I really should learn to work on one task at a time. LOL

That's why I split mine apart took out the tubes and cut a hatch under the wing.
Also meant I could sort out the battery cheeks to suit.
Loads of space now.

Cheers Mike, if what I have done creates too much drag I may end up just letting the bottom cable drag. This is what I did last night:

I spent hours trying to cut a hole in the side so I could make room for all the FPV gear. It took me ages to cut the sides from the central supports. In the end I attached a razor blade to a ruler and slide it underneath and slowly cut through.

Next job is to cut the cheeks on the inside of the nose so I can get my battery in. I don't suppose you had to do this?

Great video butty.

Thanks for the offer to the dirty dozen field I'll take you up on it a little further down the line, I seem to be having some teething problems I need to sort first.

The bixler flies great with all the fpv kit on and I'm very happy with the setup.

However big issue with the VX VR......good solid picture on the ground and with the motor running, however walk more than 20 meters and it loses signal......same in the air.

I fly in a farmer's field in the middle of nowhere so no other interance expected.

I was my very nice CL CP antennas so was expecting much more.

I didn't have the originals with me to see if that helped but I'll do a ground test with those later today I have a theory and would like to see if anyone else think the same......here are some picture......wonder if anyone can spot something that might cause a range issue

Only just got the VTX so I would rather not get rid of it straight away.

Not turned on without antenna at all.

Is there any turn on procedure like my dx6i ect ect.

Not sure if you noticed the silver reverse polarity adaptor on both antennas as my other half ordered the wrong set to match the VTx and VRx....could this be the issue??

A gender bender wouldn't cause that sort of issue, and there shouldn't be a turn on procedure as the frequencies of the two devices are different. Id contact the retailer who sold it to you and quiz them on how to move forward. Sounds like a duff VTx to me unless you've got some contact loss somewhere on the active element pins in the adapters.
