E-flite RV-9 450 ARF Announced!

Hangar 9 is coming out with a larger RV-9 soon but look what also just popped up on Horizon this morning:

RV-9 450 ARF

Key Features

  • Detailed cockpit with molded seat backs
  • Side-mounted aileron servos to preserve scale appearance
  • Adjustable motor mount accepts Park 450 or Park 480 motors
  • Accurate scale outline
  • Preinstalled steerable tailwheel
  • Balsa and ply construction
  • Classic UltraCote trim scheme
  • Large magnetically secured access hatch
  • Painted fiberglass cowl
  • Spinner included
  • Optional flaps
Overview

The sporty lines and spirited performance of the Van’s Aircraft RV-9 has made it one of general aviation’s most popular homebuilt aircraft. E-flite has perfectly captured the spirit of this plane with this outstanding ARF that boasts true-to-scale lines and, like its inspiration, is an absolute joy to fly. To keep the scale lines unspoiled, E-flite has designed the RV-9 450 with internal servo mounts that are concealed from view. A classy red, yellow and blue UltraCote® trim scheme, cockpit details and factory painted fiberlass cowl further enhance the realism. You even have the option of adding functioning flaps for exciting short field takeoffs and landings. In the air, the RV-9 450 offers a nice balance between maneuverability and stability that will please both intermediate and experienced pilots.

Pretty sure I'm adding this one to the hanger. I hope they're flying it at SEFF(and someone gets video). Also curious what John Redman's (albeit biased) opinion is of it.

isnt that cute! looks just like the hanger 9 40 sized offering with different covering. Makes me wonder if the new eflite platnium sized bird will be a very well done mustang like the recently update 60 series.

Oh, Carlos, it's all in good fun-but, please, keep it concise when you build it! Did you mean "odor?"

I will hold off from posting any pictures until the very end as this has been what I have done at RCUniverse and WATT Flyer forums and it follows much better than having lots of people come to ask many questions and post their thoughts while you build.

Look for a "concise" build thread with Videos!

They're quite different. The E-Flite is the RV-9, H( is RV-8, E-Flite is much lighter too...better performer for E-power!!

I am leaning on the Hangar9 RV-8, it is larger, yes it is heavier but, it comes with lots of wing area and have you seem the Video?!!! It slows down like my GWS pico Tiger Moth!
