Maiden flight

Glide testing today. After many throws it was still in good shape. I will try a bungee launch next.

Hi from RCbobcat55 Very impressive design! I have built a bunch of foam board models in the past including flat 3D designs, mini edf jets, and disposable slope ships. To get a nice smooth profile on the foam board edges I glue balsa or spruce strips to the raw edges then carve and sand them round. I also have been experimenting with laminated depron with a layer of 1/2 or 3/4 oz glass cloth between the two layers then sanded to an airfoil shape-very strong and even stronger if covered with silkspan and polycrylic satin water based varnish. I also use cf rods for tail booms and carved pink foam pods covered with 2 layers of glass cloth then cut out the canopy opening and dissolve out the foam. Very light and strong. keep up the good work-we need some innovative and cost-effective forms of construction. Bob M..

Give it a try-it really isn't too hard to do. Also, I have a modified feather cut machine and can cut some very thin cores if you would like to try that idea out. I produce a whole line of arf pitcheron designs and several retro repro kits as well as cutting custom cores. Thanks for the reply. Bob M.. If you have any questions about making the pod feel free to pm me at RCbobcat55@yahoo.com Bob M..

If you create a kit I would buy it.

Bungee launch

It launched nice. I was afraid the wings would not stay level without ailerons. HobbyKing 6mm Bungee and some 6 lb fishing line.
