Why do CP helicopters fly better in the wind?

What about the design works better in the wind? Is it only better in idle up
mode it is it always better?

The increased head speed has a lot to do with it, but also the fact that you can use negative pitch without reducing the head speed also helps.

It's only in idle-up that they do well in wind. If you catch a gust and the helicopter shoots up, you'll end up dangerously cutting rpms trying to get it down in non-idle-up-mode, which can easily result in a crash.

edfaros that is wrong and only happens when the throttle and pitch curve is set up wrong in normal non-idle up mode....Any proper setup should have neg pitch starting at less than half stick....At half stick the plades should have 0 pitch so the switch from normal to idle up should be seamless with no jumping....
