In for a penny, in for a pound,I'm thinking of giving one of these ago.
So what do I need other than the basic kit?(motor, gyro, servos, ubec etc)
Are there any other canopies for it?

If you can fly a micro cp and have a sim, I would probably go with with the HK 450 V2 fb belted. You want something cheap and somewhat stable, a fb 250 is way too unstable. The only down side of learning on a 450 is that it is not crash friendly. A fbl 250 would be great because it's more crash friendly, but complex to set-up, plus you would have to do a conversion.

now I want a real one. The 450 could be OK but there is a lot of models and I don't know what 450 chose ? I don't want to spend a lot of money on it but on HK website there are 450 kits from 25 to 150 dollars ! So which one do I have to buy ? FB ? FBL? Belt ? torque tube ?
You have Phoenix lets go online and fly anyone else in I'll host under my name jombo

My helis always fly totally different to their computer generated Phoenix 5 relatives.

Yes, you need a gyro, servos, motor, esc, and receiver. Flybarred 250s are very edgy, but flyable, converting it to fbl makes a big difference in terms of stability.

p/s There are many 250 canopies.

Though it might be a little softer with a fly bar?
Best keep building the 450 DFC pro and take the plunge with the Blade 450x,just like the size of my FX071 and Blade 200SRX.

I've not worn any of the 3 makes above out yet.

Tarot seems like a good balance between quality/price.
