How are you comparing a 4k setup to a 4-6 channel micro quad?

Reason for seeing multiple people operate an FPV equiped RC vehicle.
-they are legally forced to have a spotter with them
-they need someone to control the camera, which IS difficult when flying at the same time

The point was that a decent size screen cannot be incorporated into a good transmitter easily. Regardless of what size quad or the cost or the transmitter used, some prefer a separate display to goggles, but then mount them to a tripod because they become awkward.

Its fine when members post off topic stuff here and there.
But when it goes for pages and pages it is outta hand.

Not sure if "pressing". But it's my new brushless FPV platform.

The PQ Poly EOX was 250.??gm. Technically not legal to fly in the USA unless you have a FAA UAS Registration(which I do). Added the AltitudeRC VTX/Pico + 1s lipo. Now definitely over the 250gm limit.

Have yet to fly outdoors due to the weather. Hovering inside is a poor test to see if the extra mass makes a difference. Ended up adding ~16gm. Roll bar to protect the cl and the FPV hardware.

Well, I have already subbed this thread and chances are this will be the next MR that I acquire.

I have already cut my teeth (and become pseudo proficient) with my X5C.
I have run my TarantulaX6 into the ground trying to find my balance of fun/stupid.
Micros are fun indoors but I want MORE. (I Just dont know *what* that more is just yet)

Honestly, I was seriously tossing around the idea of getting the JJRC X1. But after all of the reading I have done on it, Im not impressed. I kinda figured I wanted to make the jump to brushless as its night and day in the RC truck world. (And Im sure its the same in the MR world too)

This quad seems to give me a wonderous balance of cost effectiveness, brushlessness, and the ability to customize and add as you see fit. (Plus its a shoe in for building and troubleshooting your own builds eventually)

Payday is around the corner and this page is bookmarked. Hopefully no other 'shiny objects' catch my attention in the interim. I might just have to start researching them as well

IMO, the best way to enjoy this quad is to already have, in the back of your mind, the idea that you need a poly frame, better props and bigger and better batteries. It's a great foot in the door, but also a great bang for the buck - I doubt you can find better at a cheaper price. By waiting, you've missed all of the growing pains and can just walk right into a great quad.

Yes, and I am starting to succumb to the fact that I may very well be 'dhelving into a new hobby' and all of its particulars.
The logical part of me wants the RTF, fly it like you stole it while you have it.
The engineer in me wants to be able to take it apart readily and/or hack/replace at will. (As well as understand its workings further)
The cheapskate in me wants cost effectiveness without sacrificing quality (simpler doesn't always mean 'cheaper')

This quad seems to satisfy these immediate needs for me and my curiousity. This, coupled with the fact that losing $100(andchange) quad is a lot less painful than losing something more substantial.
Not to mention I tend to lose interest quickly

If you don't want to lose it, throw out the stock Transmitter.

and don't waste money on a OneLink. But if set on OneLink, I have one sitting in the junk bin. $10 PayPal includes shipping CONUS.

OneLink is just an expensive way of turning your real TX into a short range RCL protocol unit. Needs lithium AA, unless you like dealing with the annoying low voltage warning. Unit owned is the 1st gen version. Later firmware supposedly lowered the lv warning level. Bit of pita to initially set-up. Single cord that you plug into your trainer port. Then a sequence of depressing/holding tiny buttons to set up.

Check out the RCLogger OneLink YouTube tutorial for details.

Both great ideas. Sorry for not including those. Of course we're recommending this stuff after a looooong learning curve.

LOL Thanks for the suggestions - sounds like I need to actually do a little research on a halfway decent xmitter.

Down the rabbit hole I go again... *Sigh*

Cant say Im set on any xmitter in particular (see: cost effective) - Im still using the stocker for my X5C (that I did the antenna mod for) just so I could halfway fly it without losing it.

Ill dig through some threads to see what might end up being my best option.
Thanks fellas!

Busted out the EOX to fly like I stole it for a bit today and it did great in high winds with 6inch gemfans. If I decide to use a lemon rx do I only need the 12$ one from rc-drones?

Sorry Jack, but my recommendation for a proper Tx is for before he even flies it.

Don't play the Russian Roulette game of "will my unit perform a fly-away?" like I did. I nearly lost over $300 in a second.

My recommendation for a Tx is the FlySky FS-i6 or similar clone with the modified 10-Channel firmware flashed to it.

For $57, you really can't beat it. Full-range, diversity, and telemetry. Boom.
