Hitec / Multiplex USA has decided to make finding Easy Star spare parts easier...
They can be found here http://www.weekenderdirect.com/easy-...s-accessories/
This is a work in progress, more spare parts for more planes will be added along with images.

Thanks,

Shawn Spiker

That looks more like it's one of the inexpensive look-alike airplanes such as the Bixler. The Easy Star doesn't have a spar molded into the wing. Still a very neat process, nontheless.

I think you're exactly right on both points. Really neat. What we don't see here is all the nuance that leads to a good foam product. Density, stability, etc all work toward making Elapor what it is.

Not an EZ2 - the motor pod is the wrong shape too.

Absolutely. In my professional life I have had cause to visit and check out some Chinese manufacturing sites, and it is quite interesting the variation in adherence to quality control systems - and even the presence of said systems!

That's a much slower cycle time than I would have expected, however - but then I have no experience of moulding an expanded foam.

It surprised me to see that video since I expected something completely different from Multiplex. But as soon as I saw the wing spar and the aileron size it was obvious it was a different plane. Still very interesting though!

It wouldn't surprise me if even Multiplex had outsourced the production to China - but I think that MPX would insist upon the same quality controls and systems that they would for a European source. This would make it more expensive than other Chinese suppliers (perhaps used by HK?), but still cheaper than EU production sites.

How should I put this... Well, it surprised me as it does not look very professional. They guy has no gloves. The spars for produktion are in a pile on the floor. There are pieces of foam too on the floor where there is also some leaked fluid. The pieces are laid on unmarked wagons. I've been to many small and large factorys in Sweden and typically don't see that, both the union and the QC people would throw a complete fit. But maybe it's normal for China. Not judging!!! Just an observation, with a production line like that there are so many fault possibilities waiting to happen it would be impossible to have the "Multiplex quality".

I can't identify the aircraft though. Elliptical shaped stab. Ideas?

I would say that it is fairly typical for Chinese companies that are either selling to the domestic market, or are exporting to customers who do not impose 'Western' style quality system requirements upon them because they are not prepared to take an increase in the part cost. Because that is one of the things that makes China a cheap place to have things made!!

The Condor flight.

Well , thanks is due to THE CONDOR for the nice smooth and short flight. You should be working for the Italian tourist board. It would seem that my Easy star and I still have some little way to go.
