This radio sucks, no own personality you only know clone again and again as you did for the DX6i...
plastic case looks like a toy and very poor quality... don't make me laugh if you think people will spend 600 bucks for it... LOL
Make your own desing, do not copy paste from Futaba, use the best mateterials and it's done.
Why do you think DLE chinese engines are a success anywhere? the did not clone anyone and they improve their own products constantly.
You can return all those radios that you have in stock to the factory and burn them.

yes, it is ava now. But I am hoping they will have the new firmware ava. to use with older walkera 2.4g heli........

I don't know if anyone from Walkera is watchkng this thread, but it would be important to them.

Ehirobo, it seems you have contact with walkera so you're probably the best person to tell them that by them making it incompatible they have essentially created a new brand so they've lost the greater part of the chance of their huge customer base. This creates an excellent opportunity for Walkera customers to convert to Futaba, etc., while their existing fleet stagnates. Personally I feel that Walkera has left its good customers high and dry during this period. It's like saying, "Well thanks folks for all that you've purchased but we're abandoning all that made this relationship what it is today as we're off to something else. Here's the new product for you to buy and you must because the existing products are end-of-line. Good luck to those of you who don't buy our new Walkera. Here's the Futaba catalog. There is model there just for you."

I'm hoping Walkera will come up with the backward compatibility firmware soon. I'm a fan. My whole fleet of a dozen or so aircraft runs on my tx-2801pro txs.

I totally agree with you nese... It will be so much better if the DEVO 12 can work with my older walkera's..... We had contact them and as said before they are working on it now and hope to hear from them soon. Well, atleast the receiver is avaliable seperately now.......

I ask about Devo and old WK RX to my WK contact and the verdict is:

"The DEVO system is completely different from Walkera-branded system. Neither DEVO 12 or DEVO 8 can be compatible with the old RX series. "

That's unfortunate news indeed.

Until the official word is released I guess I'll be on the sidelines enjoying Walkera radios for what they are.

The day there is backward compatibility is the day the DEVO12 becomes a product from a Walkera which cares about its past and future. I will then bother to read more about this product and probably be prepared to buy the DEVO12 just because it will work with the rest of my fleet.

The way things are the wk2801pro is still the top of the line Walkera tx. The DEVO12 is just some other brand.

I got this list from walkera this morning. they told me that some of the old models can be compatible with DEVO series radios ,the only thing you need to do is change the old receivers back to RXXXX-D receiver. then you can enjoy the OLD and NEW walkera helicopter via DEVO radios.

What's more ,if the distributors(such as our company: Hobbyone) apply to upgrade the receivers for the end users,Walkera will help to upgrade the receivers for free!

There appears to be some progress, but you will realize that they are still asking their customers, especially those real supporters that have spent a lot on Walkera stuff, to jump over a great divide.

I hope they can give customers something more that makes us feel like winners for supporting them to their current success, not losers.

i.e. "The bigger the supporter in the past having bought many Walkera products, the bigger the winner we are now", as compared to "The bigger the supporter in the past, the bigger the loser (sucker) we turned out to be".

Of course it will cost them money now, but it will buy them a future.
