My quaddy with an OpenPilot CC flight controller. It is super aerobatic. Was flying it last night at midnight in a park in central london overlooked by houses. Must have looked pretty crazy to anyone looking out their windows.

No video l have flowen it at Parker Mt., Grass Mt. and Weldon Ca.

Finished my Raidan a month ago.

The bottom of the wings are out lined also. Red at the leading edge & white at the traling edge & red down the bottom of the fuse. The sides have white. I put a strip of green on the top of the rudder after this photo.

43.4 feet of lights!!!!!!! It sucks a 3s 2200mah dead in 15 minutes


I've only had it up once though.

Here is a pic of my Esky Big Lama that I use for night flying, as you can see it has green l.e.ds in the canopy white on the bottom of the canopy and blue down the boom. I run them off of a separate 3S 300mah lipo. It did have a flybar with and l.e.d at each end, but that made the heli too wobbly in the air so that has since been taken off.

Has anyone used 5050 LED’s?

These appear to be brighter, with higher power consumption, curious to know what’s the power consumption of the standard Hobby King strips

Since the HK LED strips (and others like it) use way more voltage than they need to use, they are less efficient than they could be. So, their power consumption is "high" - it's covered in this video...

Harry, to this day, I still think your radian takes the cake for all documented night flyers!

Your use of RGB lights and sequencers is still my favorite example of how far one can go in this night-flying arena.

It's a good thing I enjoy soldering! I have a new nite-flyer project I've started but it's been put aside for a little bit while I help a couple of club members with their first nite-flyers. Most of them have no idea how long it takes to wire up a plane...
My new project is a "harry designed" aircraft (that means I don't know if it'll fly! )
so it'll take me a little bit to get the bugs worked out before I can add lights. I'll keep ya posted if you like.

By the way, your Burned Retina nite-flyer was awesome and no easy project itself!
A great deal of work goes into these aircraft doesn't it? But the end result is we enjoy them, as do so many people that stop by to visit wherever and whenever we fly them.
