Revolectrix Cellpro PowerLab 8 (Charges In 5 Min?)

I saw a review on the PL8 and (about 7 minutes into the video) what got my attention was charging lipos around 5 minutes! This means me saving money by buying 1 battery pack, maybe 2 since they can be recharged so quickly. So I figure if I spend more on the charger, then I'll save that much (maybe more) on not having to buy several batteries, right?

I know the PL8 is a bit expensive (around $250) but can the PL6 and the iCharger 3010B charge a 2S 5000mAh lipo in about 5-10 minutes? If so, then maybe I can still get one of these and buy only 1 quality lipo pack and be done.

I've been saving my money and doing research for nearly a month now and I've got a few other friends that want to get into the hobby, so they may be using my charger also. I'm close to pulling the trigger on a few items but I thought this makes total sense to drop a little more money on a good quality charger (like FMA) and buy less batteries and then I can always sell it if it's too much or doesn't work out for me. (Thanks for the tips from members like mrforsyth, The Tug and grimbeaver and others - always appreciated)!

To charge any LiPo from empty in 10 minutes you need to be charging at 6C or more (=30A charge rate for 5000mAh), so the first thing you must consider is the quality of your batteries. Not all LiPos can take that high charge rate. And in figuring how many packs you need to keep flying, you need to remember that they should be rested a while after flying, to cool down, before being charged again.

For a 2S LiPo, 30A charge rate is "only" 250 watts or so, so the 3010B and the PL6 should be able to manage it with no problem.
