Electrafly WW1 picture thread

How about a picture thread for the WW1 models from Electrafly ?

I have a few and I like looking at other models without wading through 4 or 5 large threads.

And my SE5, this one has rib tapes that took some time but I think it really adds dimension. I made the gun mount from G-10 fiberglass and it's held on with magnets.

Here's my SE5a. I've had it 3 years now and it's still flying. I estemate there's at least a 100 flights on it. After the first year, I got tired of repairing the landing gear and replaced it with some homemade dural gear.

I never added any of the details included in the kit, the engine parts are out of scale, the cam covers are too short and the machine gun was a joke. I bought a Lewis and a Vickers machine gun with the intent of putting the Lewis on a Forrester mount and the Vickers in the nose. I was going to do the wing rigging too and fabricate new scale sized cam covers but after the landing gear change I decided it wasn't worth the effort. It's just a flyer now.

Here is a pic of my DVII,
I had to replace the firewall after a slightly vertical landing which explains the fully white fuse.
It has had many flights since its maiden 3 or so years ago

I love these planes, and have had all of them....but I just have too many brain farts to keep them very long.

They are the best flying little planes tho....I just loved my neiuport...it was the last one that I lost.

Here is my DR1 on the repair table.......again....eats up landing gear like crazy as they are very soft aluminum, and not grass or gravel freindly.

I am not familiar with the DR1 LG, but on the SPAD and Nieuport, ground handling and durability can be greatly improved by rigging the LG with fishing line. The standard setup has too much flex, which allows the wheels to turn in any random direction at the point of touchdown.

The DR1 lg is simply too soft, they need to be made out of a stronger alloy of aluminum.

This is a fun plane. It has a ton of detail for an ARF.
