Ram 1000

I'm thinking about selling one of my RAM 1000's. This one has about 14 hours since new bearings and full inspection by Carlos at RTI. It has the updated ECU from RJP, version R03B

It will include everything you need to get it running. Fuel pump, valves, ECU, GSU, cables, filters and turbine. Also original owners manual and latest ECU update manual.

This turbine is still going strong in my BVM MIG 15 and I'm just looking to see what kind of interest there is. I am looking to upgrade (more bucks) to an JetCat 100RX, but if I don't sell this, I'll just keep on running it in the MIG.

In 2008, it when in to get the magnet updated for the new ECU and Carlos looked it over and found no issues. When the new ECU was installed, it had 62 cycles and 8:54 on it. New ECU shows 33 cycles and 4:32 on it. Might be a little more, since I plan on flying it Saturday.

I will take some pics, but it is installed, so won't show much. No damage, ALWAYS run derated at 120K RPM with FOD screen. Carlos says it will last forever if kept at 120K.

Now that's FUNNY Right there. NO RAM was built with Kero start.

Can one be converted? Maybe but your answer should be NO.

This is an auto start, propane start, turbine. Not sure if Bob Price has done or is planning an upgrade to the ECU for Kero Start. Pics soon.

That's a great price for a virtually indestructible turbine.

Scott:

Is it Kero Start = Big fat NO.

Can one be converted, of course but the parts might cost as much as the asking price. As you know, He would need new ECU, Data Terminal, Kero burner and maybe other internal parts. You would know way more than me on that one. I have yet to see or hear that someone has converted a RAM to Kero Start, you and Clay have the knowledge and Turbines to do it

1. No On-Board Propane = Much less chances of Fire in a mishap, usually that is what ignites first since it has a lower Flash Point.

2. No propane also = Less things to buy / Haul around and of course needed for each flight. The trigger handles are harder to find. Coleman cans of Power!ax are becoming more rare. Last but not least, less things to fill and worry about in each flight.

I don't carry propane onboard anymore. I have a can "T"'d on my trigger and just have a shutoff on the end. One way valve Festo on the plane, Hook up for start then disconnect.

I don'tmind autostart. A small propane bottle isn't that hard to carry around and I don't carry propane on board.

I have to agree, made it a new motor. I had an original 1A ECU, so old Bob was surprised it was still out there being used. The new start sequence works great! Worth every penny!
