Based on the weight it seems kind of heavy for its size especially if your intent is to fly 3D with it. I have yet to see a video of it in-flight though.

My wife bought me this plane for Xmas. The airframe is really nice but being a gas or electric it is heavy. However we must keep the wives happy so I'm going to build it as soon as I get the parts I need.

I'll let you know how I make out.

I can't see 249.99 as over priced. Its 59" wingspan. The weight should be attributed to the fact its built for engines, not electric only. In this size I would prefer electric only. But if your into nitro then it could be fun.

if you look at weight only yeah its heavy, if you factor in the wing area its no 3dhs but i would guess it will hold its own. from the original it looks like they added a couple of inches on each wing tip and went with a thinner wing. it will be interesting to watch

Finally got a chance to unbox all the pieces and take an initial look at this plane.

Keep in mind that this is the largest plane I've ever built, I've never built a 3DHS or EF plane although I do own a 3DHS Aspera that I picked up used and my favorite plane which I did build is a PA Ultimate AMR so my comparisons will be related to my experiences.

Initially, I'm very impressed with the quality of the components. The airframe seems very sturdy, the pieces all look well built and the covering is gorgeous. The pictures don't do the scheme justice.

I test fit the wings to the fuselage with the tube and I damn near couldn't get the wings off. The wing tube is a really really tight fit. Buddy of mine from my club recommended solid lubricant like baby powder which I will try tonight.

I think I will attempt my first official build log so will post a link to the build log with pics when I get a chance. If I get lazy, I'll just post some pics on this thread.

I'm opting to go with as many of the recommended parts as possible. So far I have the Power 52 motor, the 3 standard A6060 servos, and the APC prop and prop adapters as well as the spinner. I still need to get the ESC and the A5040 servos which are out of stock. If I get far enough in the build before they become available, I may opt for something equivalent from Hitec.

Hopefully I will post an update tonight with some pics.
