K&A Update

I had talk with Ken and it seems he is willing to start making some of his kits again. It will be on a part time basis but at least we can get the kits again. He will start with the A6 Intruder first.

The bronco was a good flier, even on cheap speed 400 motors and a 7 cell Nimh pack (remember those?).

The Bronco met its demise during a moment of distraction caused by a young woman who happened to be jogging at the soccer field I was at.

Rutan ARES!

Christmas is coming, I need to splurge on something.

I have his Ki-46 modified with working rudders and retracts. Fast little bugger.

Will he update his website? Or will he join the forums again?

I too would love to see the return of these. Also had the L-39 (sold), the little glass fuse Spit (hanging in the office) and still flying the Bronco. Didn't Ken market an EDF F-84 T'Streak?

I loved Ken's F-84F.

Wasn't his Mig-15 kit the result of, or in collaboration with, the "Stoli Migs" that were flown by a couple guys from the Bay Area in the late 90's? Aveox components if I remember correctly.

This was the era of super light building, balsa, foam cores and .6oz cloth, round cells, home made packs, magnets, commutators and home made fans supplementing Wemotech, Jepe, Schubeller and Kress. Warbirds like the Ryan line of speed 400 models were plentiful. How many times did we hear, "electrics don't fly son. What you need is a Supertigre .90 and a couple rolls of Monokote, and some 10 percent nitro fuel, a couple bottles of windex..."

Good times! Ken's kits with new components would be sweet indeed.

Thanks for the great news Turbonut! K&A is one of the few (if only) American fiberglass manufacturers that is as good as anything I have from Europe. Ken, glad to hear your back. Paul

Hi Guys,
Kens kits really are a great deal for what you get. But they are not ARFs by any streach..I have retracts in my bronco and his L39. I do want to try to add them to the F84 but I am sure they wont be super scale as the nose gear is very close to the front of the plane. He did update a few of his kits for the MAP gear but I think even the eflites will work on most of them. You just need to have some building skills to get to all work out.

Yes Eddie indeed At that time you could count the fools flying electric jets on the fingers of your right hand ...

Today a little bigger MiG-15 would be perhaps more popular imo ...

Scott i dont think the maps are made eithervany more.the nose gear on the eflites is way bigger than the mains .it would be great if someone made electric gearthe size of maps or sapacs.this issue has hurt alot of 70mm sized jets.

built this L-39 with the scale wing back in 2001.... 10-12 1250SCR nicads, later used 1700 nicads and an Aveox 1010/2Y motor

flew good off the bungee on only 400-450 watts
